PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency

Sinai Health System’s PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration was ASHP surveyed for full accreditation on Nov 14-15, 2017. We are very proud to report that we were accredidated for 6 years through 2024.

This residency is designed to provide a comprehensive experience in health-system pharmacy administration. Sinai Health System includes four hospitals, two research institutes and a medical group that comprises 18 clinical sites across Chicago.

Our mission is to develop future progressive pharmacy leaders through a curriculum full of  coordinated practical experiences involving all of our expanding pharmacy services.

Mount Sinai Hospital’s PGY2 Pharmacy Residency program is a broad, comprehensive pharmacy practice experience that prepares residents for multiple professional challenges and career opportunities. One PGY2 HSPA position available.


  • Develop skills in health-system pharmacy management
  • Develop competence in managerial, financial, and organizational components of health-system pharmacy
  • Develop effective organizational, integrative, and evaluation skills that will assist the resident in improving current and developing new pharmacy services
  • Develop sufficient knowledge and expertise in pharmacy with legal, regulatory, safety and accreditation requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership by developing working relationships with healthcare providers and other professionals on multidisciplinary teams and committees
  • Lead others through the use of effective communication, mentorship, action, and transformational leadership

A qualifying applicant may apply using PHORCAS through the ASHP website. Each completed application must be absolutely complete and submitted by January 26, 2020 in order to be considered. Applicants must also obtain three professional references, at least two of which are from clinical preceptors.
