Professional Summary

 

Paula joined SUHI in January 2019 to work with SUHI’s Health Equity and Assessment Research strategy, focusing on Sinai Community Health Survey 2.0 dissemination activities, planning SUHI’s youth research activism training initiatives, and supporting SUHI’s ongoing internship program with the Chicago Medical School.

Prior to joining SUHI, Paula worked as postdoctoral fellow at the University of South Carolina on a project that aimed to understand the social and environmental determinants of health that are associated with subsequent cigarette and e-cigarette use among adolescents in Mexico. Paula’s research focuses on understanding how policy influences nutrition- and tobacco-related perceptions and behavior, health disparities, and the social determinants of health.
