The Chicago Medical School has an outstanding cadre of faculty—both general internists and specialists with whom residents develop close working relationships. Our staff is committed to helping trainees throughout their residencies, providing invaluable support and feedback throughout their three-year programs.
In addition to providing ongoing career guidance as well as personal support, faculty members give trainees regular feedback and evaluation. These evaluations include a written evaluation from the teaching attending conducted each rotation, biannual continuity clinic evaluations, clinical evaluation exercises annually and biannual feedback sessions with the program director. Residents also participate in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s in-training exam.
Additionally, every resident is assigned a mentor to assist with both educational and personal issues as needed. These elements, along with the small group structure of our Urban Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency, offer a friendly, collegial atmosphere where residents can thrive.
