 Schwab Doctor Hosts 'Walgreens Health Corner' News Magazine TV Program
Lisa Thornton, MD, director of Kids Rehab at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, is host of the new television series, "Walgreens Health Corner", which airs Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. CST on WGN-TV in Chicago and across the country on Superstation WGN. The weekly 30-minute broadcast news magazine program will explore a variety of timely health topics, including the causes and treatment of heart disease, eating for optimum health, the role of genetics and heredity in health, and cold and flu prevention.
Dr. Thornton, who is double-boarded in both pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation, also directs Kids Rehab at LaRabida Children's Hospital. She holds the position of clinical assistant professor in the Departments of Physical Medicine and of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. She has appeared as a medical resource on numerous local and national TV broadcasts, including "Good Morning America".
 Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, 1401 S. California, is a 125-bed comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation facility that helps adult and pediatric patients achieve maximum independence. Schwab treats more than 1,800 inpatients plus thousands more outpatients each year.
