Job Description :
Under the supervision of a registered, licensed occupational therapist, performs patient evaluation procedures and directs patients’ participation in selected tasks to restore or maximize independence in daily living skills. Diminishes or corrects pathology and promotes health of patients. Demonstrates support of hospital and systems mission statement and conducts self in a manner, which brings credit to the department and institution. Contributes to the team effort and shows respect and compassion for patients, families and other staff. MINIMUM EDUCATION: ·Must have completed an accredited program for occupational therapy assistants and received an Associate of Arts degree or equivalent. ·Must be licensed as a COTA by the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure as stated by state guidelines. ·Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to work adequately with other health care professionals and to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be licensed as a COTA by the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure as stated by state guidelines
