Job Description :
Under the guidance of the Director of Therapies, performs day-to-day administrative tasks for department and supervision of staff. Directly supervises therapists, therapy assistance, rehab aides, rehab technicians, and administrative assistants. Maintains responsibility for staff education, orientation, competency planning, supply maintenance, writing performance appraisals, and daily staffing levels. Assists in operating and capital budget planning and administration and assists in stewardship of department and organization resources. Performs direct patient treatment and all activities relative to car for assigned patients. Continuously looks for ways to improve the department’s clinical quality, operational efficiency, and communication that fulfill the mission of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in discipline from an accredited college or university. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Therapist. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Good interpersonal and communication skills Effective leadership skills to work adequately with all other health care professionals REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be licensed to practice in chosen discipline by the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure as stated by State guidelines and meet all state licensure requirements.
