Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mt. Sinai Hospital-Chicago
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago is a community-based program aimed at training residents in an environment rich in clinical experience. Our department sustains a high volume of gynecologic surgery as well as a busy and diverse obstetric service, with ample exposure to high-risk cases. Residents in our program are trained to be excellent general Obstetricians and Gynecologists while gaining adequate exposure to several subspecialties. Mt. Sinai has recently been awarded the status of being a Center of Excellence for Gynecological Surgery, further emphasizing our dedication to train residents to become proficient Gynecological Surgeons.
Our program is a four year, ACGME accredited program with a total of sixteen diverse residents. Our Faculty is made up of over 20 Board Certified OB/GYN physicians. Residents at Mt. Sinai rotate through several subspecialties including Maternal-fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynecology Oncology and Urogynecology. Residents also have the opportunity to become educators through working with rotating Medical Students coming from a variety of different Medical Schools. Residents graduate with the ability and confidence to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology in any setting with any circumstance.
