Program Highlights

Part of Sinai Health System, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital offers a three-year residency program in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The primary objective of the Residency Program is to provide a well-balanced, comprehensive training experience for resident physicians in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The educational experience includes direct patient care under the supervision of attending physicians, didactic presentations, specialized clinics, research, participation in Hospital committees, and exposure to, and teamwork with allied health care and specialty services.

Residents gain exposure to the full spectrum of rehabilitation health care, from spinal cord injuries to stroke, orthopedic and amputation rehabilitation.

  • Interventional Pain Management at the University of Chicago
  • Electrodiagnosis at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and University of Illinois
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Consults at the University of Chicago

Program Highlights PGY IV:

  • Inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation at La Rabida Hospital, University of Chicago, Shriner's and Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Electrodiagnosis at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and University of Illinois
  • Subacute Rehabilitation at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Consults at Level 1 Trauma Center, Mount Sinai Hospital
  • Chronic Pain Elective
  • PT/OT & Orthotics and Prosthetics
  • Choice of Electives (8 weeks)
  • Neuromuscular Medicine
