Mount Sinai Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital Recognized by American Heart Association for Quality Improvement Achievements

MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL AND HOLY CROSS HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED BY AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION FOR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Hospitals Achieve Award-Level Performance for Heart Attack and Stroke Programs

CHICAGO, IL – Mount Sinai Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital were each recognized by the American Heart Association for achieving award-level criteria in the AHA’s “Get With The Guidelines” quality improvement program, as well as achievement in the Mission: Lifeline program. Both hospitals were recognized in the AHA’s annual feature in U.S. News and World Report “Best Hospitals” issue.

The “Get With The Guidelines” quality improvement program promotes adherence to research-based guidelines for treatment of heart disease and stroke. Mount Sinai was named for Gold Achievement for two or more consecutive years of 85% or higher adherence on all achievement measures applicable to stroke programs. Holy Cross was named for Gold Plus Achievement for for two or more consecutive years of 85% or higher achievement, as well as 75% or higher adherence on additional quality measures in stroke treatment.

The “Mission:Lifeline” awards recognize hospitals for utilizing prompt, guideline-based treatment for heart attack and stroke, leading to improved patient outcomes. Both Mount Sinai and Holy Cross were recognized on the Target Stroke Honor Roll for at least three consecutive months of 50% or higher adherence to all relevant Target measures, in addition to their Gold Get With The Guidelines recognition. Additionally, Mount Sinai also achieved STEMI Silver Receiving recognition for a one calendar year interval of 85% or higher composite adherence to all STEMI performance indicators and 75% or higher compliance on each performance measure.
