A dedicated corps of volunteers and professional team under the auspices of the Mount Hospital Woman’s Board staff the resale shop. Since the inception of the shop in l980, they have raised over $1,000,000 for Mount Sinai Hospital.
Mount Sinai Hospital and Sinai Children’s Hospital pursue a mission of providing quality health care to all regardless of their ability to pay. The Mount Sinai Resale Shop is committed to the hospital’s mission.
Among the projects the Woman’s Board and volunteers have funded are laser instruments for several hospital departments, six beds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in 2004, four video towers for the hospital’s state-of-the-art surgery department, and in 2006 a Nurses’ Call Unit for Sinai Children’s Hospital’s inpatient unit.
