SUHI Project: Helping Her Live

 Helping Her Live

Helping Her Live (HHL) is a breast health awareness and outreach program for women living in Chicago's West and Southwest side communities. HHL aims to Gain Control of Breast Cancer by empowering women with breast health information to obtain routine mammogram screenings and results. The HHL Program seeks to establish itself as a model for community navigation of breast health services. Community Health Workers (CHWs) attend community events and health fairs, present workshops, and conduct one-on-one canvassing to educate and recruit women in need of breast health services. CHWs help each woman enrolled in the program to complete her mammogram, obtain results and receive any necessary follow up care. Click here to view our project brochure in English and Spanish
