Every resident is required to participate in scholarly activity (a research study and/or quality improvement project). This activity is supervised by the members of the scholarly activity committee. The first year residents are paired with a senior resident and each two member team of residents is supervised by an attending physician. They are guided through the various steps including developing a research question, IRB submission, data collection, statistics, writing, and presenting abstracts. Many of our residents have presented abstracts at regional and national meetings.
