PGY 1 (12) Categorical Schedule:

  • 5-6 Months Wards
  • 6 weeks Electives*
  • 1 month Vacation
  • 1 month Night Float 
  • 1 month Medicine Consult
  • 1-2 Months MICU/CCU

PGY 1 (3) Preliminary Schedule:

  • 7 Months Wards
  • 6 weeks Electives*
  • 1 month Vacation
  • 1-2 months Night Float / Medicine Consult
  • 1 Month MICU/CCU

PGY 2&3 Schedule:

  • 3 Months Wards
  • 2-3 months Electives*
  • 1 month Vacation
  • 1 month Night Float
  • 1 Month MICU/CCU
  • 1 month MICU/CCU night float
  • 1 month ER (either PGY2 or PGY3 year)
  • 1 month Medicine Consult (PGY2-- responsible for ICU level of care outside the ICU)
  • 1 month VA rotation (PGY2-- Dermatology & Geriatrics focused)
  • 1 month Geriatrics (PGY3-- at Mt. Sinai, nearby Nursing Homes, and LTAC experience)
  • 1 month Ambulatory (PGY3-- rotating in various subspecialty clinics)

  • Once Weekly Clinic for all PGYs

  • Central Line training, Pelvic & Breast Exam Simulatory, LP simulator, Heart/Lung/Bowel Sounds Simulator
  • Conferences: Morning Report M-F (see below), Noon Conference M-F based on ACGME Core Competencies given by core faculty in the subspecialties of medicine, Journal Club monthly, Morbidity and Mortality, Tumor Board, Chairman of Medicine Case Reports, Research updates, EKG conferences, Primary Care conferences
