PGY 3 - Class of 2019

Su Yeun Ban, M.D. 

Su comes from Seoul, South Korea where she earned her medical degree. Before her medical degree, she earned Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Education. She enjoys facing new challenges and she is inspired by being exposed to foreign cultures - both which she has already had the chance to experience at Sinai. Sue is participating in Sinai's Partners in Excellence Quality Improvement projects and she is part of the GME Committee. She enjoys jogging as a way to combine two of her favorites: working out and outdoors. 

 

 

Kashish Goyal, M.D.

Kashish comes from Punjab, India where he earned his medical degree in Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in the city of Ludhiana. Kashish is part of the Patient Safety Collaboration and has a particular interest in Sports medicine. He is also part of the Faith and Medicine Committee. He believes in giving back, which has spurred an interest in Community Medicine. He is an avid adventure sports fan and enjoys stand up comedy.

 

 

Amritpal Jawanda, M.D.

Amrit hails from Surrey in British Columbia, Canada. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Canada before changing continents to earn his medical degree from the Medical School at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Amrit is part of the IT in Medicine Committee, Student Affairs Committee, and the GME Committee. He also has a particular interest in Sports Medicine. Were he not a physician, he would have most likely become a marine biologist. "I'm telling you Jerry, at that moment, I was a marine biologist." 

 

 

Zuhal Kadhim, M.D.

Zuhal comes from Manitoba, Canada. After an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, she completed her medical degree at St. James School of Medicine in Bonaire. During medical school she volunteered in Chicago and found a passion in health education and preventive medicine. Her interest in leadership is shown in her work as the head of the Program Development Committee. She is also a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. While not at work, Zuhal enjoys hiking, mountaineering and cooking. 

Rachel Sewnarine, M.D.

Rachel was born in Trinidad and grew up in Florida. She earned her undergraduate at Nova Southeastern University and medical degree at St. Matthew's on British West Indies. Rachel is part of the Resident Wellness Committee, Resident Advisory Committee, and Recruitment Committee. Her other interests include Community Medicine for underserved areas. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, watching the TV show Friends, and trying new restaurants. 

 

 

Cassandra Shipp, M.D.

Cassandra comes originally from Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She studied medicine and graduated from the University of Limerick in Ireland. She has a particular interest in the care of the elderly and Geriatric Medicine. Cassandra is part of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee as well as the Community Relations Committee. The program is honored to have Cassandra as the head of the Recruitment Committee. Outside work, Cassandra enjoys traveling which she did when traveling around Europe with friends.

 

PGY 2 - Class of 2020

Daniela Dittmar, M.D. 

Daniela is a Venezuelan native who graduated medical school from La Universidad Central de Venezuela. Our program is proud to have her on the Inpatient Quality Committee, Program Development Committee, as well as the Community Relations Committee. She is the only resident in our program who is also a pilot. This is incorporated into her medical career as she used to fly to remote locations to provide medical attention to underserved areas in South America. Asides from flying planes, she enjoys yoga, bike riding, hiking, going to the beach, outdoor activities, running, and nature.  

 

 

Andro Yousef, M.D.

Andro comes from Ontario, Canada. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph and his medical degree at SABA University School of Medicine. He is a member of the IT team and the Student Affairs Committee. He has a strong interest in urgent care, telemedicine, and the evolving field of retainer medicine. Outside of medicine he enjoys, tennis, calligraphy, and participating in equestrian sports.  He hopes to continue with his hobby of financial investing and to participate in philanthropic work.

 

 

Stanislav Polinkevych, M.D.

Stan was born in Kiev, Ukraine and grew up in Montreal, Canada. He earned his medical degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland. He is a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics team and the Patient Safety Collaborative. Stan has a strong interest in Inpatient medicine and urgent care. Had he not gone into medicine, he would be a writer of historical fiction and mysteries. Stan is also a car and boat enthusiast.

 

 

Berenice Subero, M.D.

Berenice was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She graduated from La Universidad Central de Venezuela. She has an active role in the Resident Advisory Committee and the Community Relations Committee. She wishes to be a leader in Preventative Medicine, health promotion, and nutrition. In her time off she enjoys yoga, working out, trying new restaurants and coffee shops. She also wishes to be an avid researcher. 

 

 

Erika Chico, M.D.

Erika was raised in Quezon city in the Philippines where she eventually graduated from the University of Santo Tomas. She is a prominent member of the Faith and Medicine Committee and the Patient Safety Collaborative. Asides from being a great diagnostician, she shows empathy in ensuring all of her patients are well treated and cared for. She has a special interest in Geriatric and Sleep Medicine. Erika enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, and reading.  

 

 

Anil Andani, M.D.

Anil comes from Toronto, Canada. He studied medicine and graduated from St. George's University in Grenada after a year in Newcastle, UK. He also spent on year in Korea teaching English. Anil is part of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee as well as the Family Medicine Wellness Committee. Apart from Medicine, Anil is working to get his MBA. His interests include basketball and travel. 

 

 

PGY 1 - Class of 2021

Balraj Dhaliwal, M.D.

Balraj comes from Abbotsford in British Columbia, Canada. After completing his Bachelor of Science at UBC he attended SABA University School of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree. His is interested in community medicine, as well as sports medicine. Outside of medicine he enjoys staying active through fitness and outdoor activities, He is an avid sports fan, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. He is a part of the Information Technology and Faith & Medicine committees at Sinai Hospital. 

   

Stefany Kress, M.D.

Stefany was born in Guatemala and raised in Canada where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French. She completed her medical degree at St. James School of Medicine in Anguilla, British West Indies. In her spare time, Stefany volunteers as a district mobilizer with International Justice Mission advocating against human trafficking. Stefany enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling, hiking, traveling some more, working out, and trying new activities and restaurants. Stefany is part of the Family Medicine Community Relations Committee

   

Manasvi Kulshrestha, M.D.

Manasvi was born and raised in Lucknow, India. She received her Bachelor of Sciences in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She studied one year of medicine at Northumbria University, Newcastle, U.K. and later graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada. She has a strong interest in women’s health, preventive and rural medicine. She is an avid reader and enjoys traveling, yoga, outdoors and time with friends and family. Manasvi is part of the Patient Safety Collaborative as well as program development

   

 

Neil H Patel, M.D.

Neil was born in London, England and grew up in Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida and received his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University. It was during his time as a medical student that Neil fell in love with community medicine. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics Team and the Student Affairs Committee. Neil has a strong interest in pediatric/adolescent medicine and sports medicine. Outside of medicine, Neil enjoys cheering on his beloved Jacksonville Jaguars, wrestling, boxing, cooking and playing with his dog Maximus.

 

   

Rayman Johal, M.D.

Rayman comes from British Columbia, Canada. He earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua. He has particular interests in nutrition, health education and preventive medicine in underserved communities. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Rayman is part of the Inpatient Quality Committee as well as the GME Committee.

   

Daniel Petersen, M.D.

Daniel was born in Houston Texas but spent the majority of his childhood growing up in New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Hartford during which time he was active in research at Hartford Hospital. He then attended Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica where he earned his medical degree. In the winter of 2016, Daniel participated in a Global Health Program Initiative where he traveled to Kazan, Russia. Gaining insight into other cultures and how they perceive healthcare has helped to shape Daniel as both a physician and an individual. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and family, trying new foods and, of course, watching Netflix. Daniel is part of the Hospital Resident Advisory Committee.
