The Multidisciplinary Care Model

The coordination of several different specialties in one location improves physician-to-physician communication and collaboration and allows for a more unified approach to the patient's care. The comprehensive breast clinic model will create a "one-stop" patient experience providing consultation and evaluation services in one location within a single clinic visits. The patient is evaluated by several specialists including:

  • Medical oncologists
  • Surgeons
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Pathologists

After evaluation, the team makes treatment recommendations on the proper treatment plan based on the patient's type and stage of cancer. The patient is informed of the plan within 24-48 hours. Breast care navigators will assist the patient throughout the entire process.
