PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - HCH EMERGENCY DEPT.
The Sinai Health System entity, Holy Cross Hospital Emergency Department, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant! The Physician Assistant is a licensed allied health professional who functions independently under the direction of a physician. The Physician Assistant has completed an accredited educational program approved by the AMA and has passed the NCCPA exam. This position encourages and promotes the more effective utilization of the skills of physicians enabling them to delegate certain health tasks to the physician assistant where such delegation is consulted with health and welfare of the patient and is conducted at the direction of and under the responsible supervision of the Chief Medical Officer or physician. The Physician Assistant demonstrates key behaviors in the areas of care delivery, collaboration, and professional growth. The Physician Assistant works under the supervision of a physician to provide preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic health care services. Care delivery includes assessing status, identifying problems, developing and implementing a plan of care in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team to meet expected healthcare outcomes. Care is delivered, viewing the person as a whole being, including but not limited to physiological, psychological and spiritual aspects. Consideration of the individual’s age, developmental level, learning ability, health status and belief system are integral parts of the process.
Full-time: Rotating hours: 12 & 9 hr. shifts, days, nights, weekends, holidays
Part-time: Rotating hours: 12 & 9 hr. shifts, days, nights, weekends, holidays
Registry (On-call): Rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an NCCPA approved PA program Successful completion of the NCCPA examination MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2+ Years Current Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Illinois CPR certification ACLS certification PALS certification DEA Illinois controlled substance licensure.
