Mount Sinai Hospital has an opportunity for a HIM Tech IV-Coder. This position requires solid experience with inpatient coding. Responsible for assigning ICD-9-CM and/or CPT-4 codes to all patient types for all visits. Abstracts pertinent information from patient records and records appropriately. Minimum requirement: MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate in related field; Bachelor Degree preferred; or Completion of an accredited Coding Specialist Certificate Program.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years coding experience for all patient types.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environment
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); or Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P); or Certified Professional Coder Physician (CPC-P); or Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
