Sinai Health System and Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital Announce Physician Leader

Karl Sandin, MD, MPH joins Sinai Health System as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for Sinai Health System.

Dr. Sandin comes to Sinai from Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, where he served as physician-in-chief and interim chief of the Spinal Cord System of Care and was responsible for all aspects of the Institute’s operations.  Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota he was graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.  He completed medical school and an internship at Northwestern University and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Spinal Cord Injury medicine, he also earned a master’s of public health degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.   A national leader in quality measurement and public health in rehabilitation, he brings enthusiasm and commitment to medical rehabilitation and the care of people with disabilities.
