Cintas Employee Partners Team Up to Support Behavioral Health Therapy Program for Children at Mount Sinai Hospital, Donates 500 Coats and Dozens of Toys
CHICAGO, IL — At an event held at Mount Sinai Hospital on December 10, 2013, employees of Cintas Corporation donated 500 coats and dozens of toys to Under The Rainbow, a child and adolescent outpatient behavioral health program at Mount Sinai Hospital. Employees of Cintas, a business supply provider, also announced a long-term sponsorship of Under The Rainbow. As sponsors of Under The Rainbow, Cintas employees are raising funds to renovate therapy rooms and donating necessities such as toys for play therapy and outwear for children and young adults.
“The incredible passion of the people at Cintas is what kick-started our relationship,” said Mount Sinai Hospital’s director of child and adolescent behavioral health, Rich Macur-Brousil, Psy.D. “They have committed to sponsoring Under The Rainbow not just through the holidays, but also to using their talents to help us meet our needs for the longer term.” In addition to a toy and coat drive, Cintas is hosting fund-raisers to help pay for refurbishing three therapy rooms at a time in the Under The Rainbow facility. “It’s so important to all of us that we help children,” said Cintas apparel regional manager Renee Rogers.
Under The Rainbow serves children and young adults on the West and Southwest Sides of Chicago who have experienced trauma or who have been diagnosed with mental disorders, including behavioral and academic problems. Under The Rainbow’s multidisciplinary staff of licensed behavioral health specialists offers educational and preventative services for children, young adults and their families to raise awareness and discourage traumatic incidents in domestic settings. “What Cintas employees are doing for Under The Rainbow translates as hope for our patients who have not experienced the world as a safe and warm place,” said Jim Bicak, Vice President of Sinai Health System, a not-for-profit, Chicago-based parent organization of Mount Sinai Hospital. “Their support and passion will be integral to providing an even more positive patient experience here at Mount Sinai.”
